WHO WE ARE
Our Name and History
The name ‘Kāhui Tautoko’ was given to the Company by the late Mate Kaiwai, a prominent Ngati Porou kuia (elder) from the East Coast of New Zealand.

The name was given to mean ‘a group sent out to uplift others’. Literally ‘Kāhui’ means a group and ‘tautoko’ means support, strengthen, guide and uplift. From this name the Company developed its purpose of ‘supporting organisations to do great things in their communities’.
Kāhui Tautoko Consulting Ltd (New Zealand) was registered in July 2000. There are two Directors - Mara Andrews and Careene Andrews. In 2008 the Company registered a subsidiary office in Canada named Kāhui Tautoko Consulting (Canada) Ltd and in 2017 the Company registered its subsidiary office in Hawai’i named Kahui Tautoko Consulting (Hawai’i) LLC.
